Religion

Supernatural, transcendental and spiritual beliefs did not die with Earth in the 2180s. In fact, the apocalypse is often cited as a catalyst to a century long religious revival. Many new faiths emerged from the ashes of Earth and many old faiths reconstituted themselves in the populations that survived.

Maris Theocracy – The aspirational, transhumanist faith of the Maris (Quodilus and Telahus genomes). The Theocracy exists to inspire, encourage and prepare the Maris for interstellar settlement on watery realms. It’s one of the few species-exclusive transnational organizations in Sol.
Archivists Dechonet – A centralist faith that predates Spica’s Arrow, but grew drastically in the century following the loss of Earth. The core tenant of the Dechonet is that humanity lost its way when Earth crumbled. It thus strives to guide to its followers and bring them back into the core of humanity by preserving the cultures and biosphere of Earth. It is not so different from many non-religious conservations in that sense. However, the Dechonet rejects many of the modern amenities that permeate Sol… not limited to rejecting many aspects of cybernetics, deep space travel and transhumanism
Raner-Tok – A multifaceted religion and way of life that developed on Luna and Earth sphere around 2200. Encompassing a diverse set of beliefs and traditions, Raner-Tok has vague roots in old Earth Hinduism. Like other faiths, Raner-Tok is thought to have emerged in the tumultuous chaos following the Terran Impact Event, a time in which desperate survivors sought clarity in the loss of humanity.
Raner-Tok Epochitet – An outer solar system sect of Raner-Tok. It shares nearly all the beliefs and practices of Raner-Tok, except that in place of Kochitet (the soul’s liberation from the cycle of rebirth), the sect preaches Epochitet, the idea that immortality can satisfy the liberation of the soul.
True Light of Sol – A humanist-diasporic faith that predates Spica’s Arrow by nearly a hundred years, True Light is one of the most well funded religious sects in human space. The great wealth of True Light is primarily spent pursuing their core belief… that humanity is destined to grow and seed the universe with life. While the True Light is generally well received, many projects have been criticized for putting the needs of the distant future against the needs of the now.
New Vatica – An amalgamation of the old biblical faiths. New Vatica is a monotheistic religion that provides its followers a structured system of morals and ethics by which to live, typically based in scripture. New Vatica owns and governs an orbital in the inner solar system, Conferito Grace.
The modern prominence of this faith is not a coincidence. It is believed that that both Christianity and Hinduism were the two faiths most represented off Earth at the time of the Terran Impact Event.

Third of Irons – A Human centralist faith based on family groups, heraldry and the human spirit. Derived from Mercury sphere during the collapse of Earth, the humble religion has spread to many cultures of the inner solar system, and has become famous for its huscarl missionaries.
Blyn Highmancy – A species exclusive blyn humanitarian agency. The mission of the highmancy is to guarantee equal rights, political allocation and to act as a conduit of aid to members of the blyn subspecies. The highmancy predominately operates in the Uranian system, though it has reach into the Kuiper Alliance.
