Conglomerates

Transnational entities thrive in human space. Gigantic, system-encompassing organizations challenge the scope and assets of many governments.
Commercial
Temper and Cole Interplanetary – T&C traces its roots to the recapitalization era in the 2210s. It formed out of several floundering space manufacturers that were barely clawing their way out of the apocalypse on Earth. Today, the company consistently ranks within the top five space manufacturers.
First One – One of the oldest space age companies, First One has humble roots in the early days of Earth rocketry in the 20th and 21st century. Though the validity of many claims have been lost to time, the company boasts many commercial spaceflight firsts. It has managed to survive booms and busts over the centuries, the greatest bust being the near total collapse of First One holdings on Mars during the 2180s while Earth was dying. Today though, the company thrives in the space logistics, propulsion and communications market.
Refusion Economic Group – Refusion is a large group of companies that cooperate in the fusion propulsion market. Together, they hold the vast majority of the market. Most aerospace companies that produce fusion engines outside of the economic group only do so with considerable government subsidies.
Florabron – One third of the agricultural triopoly, but easily the most controversial. Florabron has made aggressive bids to buyout independent farming collectives on orbitals in deep space. Deep space cities usually try to diversify their agricultural companies.
Gaia Industries – One third of the agricultural triopoly. Gaia is arguably the most profitable, as it has the most holdings in Luna sphere.
Terimaki Materials – The leading construction megacorporation. Terimaki has thousands of remote manufactories working in nearly every sphere of human space.
Issil Group – The nuclear enterprise. The one half of the oligopoly that controls nuclear fuel refinement and reprocessing in human space. Issil Group is made of about 140 sub-companies.
Enpik – Known in the TIE era as the Nuclear Products Economic Cooperative (NPEC), Enpik, as it is now known in bosti, is a transnational conglomerate of nuclear fuel transportation and storage companies. Enpik cooperatively operates the majority of nuclear logistics in human space.
Bysphere Conglomerate – A commercial state that monopolizes most Uranian atmospheric Mining. The capitol headquarters is on the High Orbit Transella-Ura Torquist, but the Bysphere has facilities in almost every other settlement over Ura. The Conglomerate has substantial economic and public influence, despite governing no orbitals. Many official state governments are rightfully wary of the Bysphere. The Bysphere Conglomerate operates one of the largest private militaries in Sol, the Bysphere Vipretta.
Cooperative Estates of Ura Herschelia – A loosely bonded group of dynastic councils, developed out of many of the early industrial processors of the Uranian system.
Nitrogen Cooperative – An alliance of companies and city states that collaborate to control the price of Nitrogen harvested on Pluto. Similar cooperatives exist on other worlds, but the Nitrogen Cooperative on Pluto is best known because
Social, Political and Humanitarian
The Tichordia Concord – The Tichordia Concord is both the treaty and the organization that restricts the further development of the human genetic template and poses significant restrictions on all other gene manipulation. The treaty was introduced by a cooperative effort between the Republic of the First World and allies, the Kuiper Alliance, and all major factions over Uranus, Saturn and Jupiter. Besides the Space Security Guild, the Tichordia Concord is perhaps the most agreed upon organization in the solar system.
The primary role of the Concord is to provide regulatory authority for the 74 Class-A transhuman species who were already established at the time the Concord was instituted. It also maintains policy that permits military intervention by any party to prevent the further development of the human genome.
The Terran Coalition – The Terran Coalition is a defense pact of nearly all Earthbound nations not aligned with the Republic of the First World. Aside from satellites and surveyors in low Earth orbit, the Coalition does not operate any space assets.
Micca Minutae – While not officially a terraforming initiative, Micca Minutea is an alliance of political
Tichordia Prima – A sub organization of the Tichordia Concord, the Prima executes regulation of the 73 recognized Class-A genomes. Duties include the funding and maintaining of lab and creation facilities, priming the medical, clothing and furnishing industries for the needs of Class-A transhumans.
Doctors for Terra – A humanitarian group committed to providing healthcare in impoverished areas. The organization originated on Earth in the early post-TIE era when travelling medical professionals were needed all over the world. It has since expanded to the solar system and transcends borders in all but the most extreme territories.
Dustarri – “Dust Family” in Oly-Bosti. Dustarri is a trade cooperative designed to subsidize and regulate food distribution across Mars. The initiative was started in 2191, ten years after the cataclysm that sundered Earth. The Martian surface had been largely abandoned at that time, but returning settlers, all of different factions, had to ensure that uneven food production could be distributed fairly. The orbital nations contributed as well to ensure that their trading partners on the surface remained viable. The cooperative has expanded to include other resource sets now.
Robinson Group – Rob-Sanoo in Oly-Bosti. Robinson was supposedly the name of the first lab or major facility on Mars. Today, the name is carried by a political affiliation of semi-nomadic families that live on the Martian surface. The Robinson group mostly subsists on mining operations, transportation and distribution services. Members of the Robinson Group account for about half of the Dustarri. Many comparisons have been made between the Robinson Group of Mars and the nomad houses of Titan, as they both subsist on similar industries.
Kue-Golgi – A transnational regulatory authority on sleeper caskets and hibernation systems. This authority and reputation was earned when they secured a near-monopoly on the trade in the mid 2200s. Competition has emerged in the century since, but the engineering standards set forth by Golgi simply means that every other casket maker is sharing in their design compatibility. Additionally, Golgi holds major contracts with sleeper orbitals, the Republic Space Force, most interplanetary space companies and two interstellar initiatives, effectively dominating the market.
People for Terran Resettlement – PTR can trace it’s roots back to the 2180s, but didn’t formally enter the political arena until 2212 when the ash winters had mostly subsided. The party asserts that spacefaring entities should be reestablishing Earth’s biosphere and resettling the home world. This view is seen as controversial, as the majority of Earth-dwelling factions are against ecoengineering and terraforming. Additionally, it is expected that reestablishing any kind of biosphere on Earth would involve extensive bioengineering that would likely push the boundaries of the Tichordia Concord.
Military and Security

Titan Security Force – The Unified defense forces of the Titanian houses. This unique military contends with orbital warfare on a moon with a uniquely thick atmosphere.
Emerald Legion– The Unified Ganymedian Military. Alone, this force accounts for about 50% of the entire Galilean Federation Military. With assistance from the Callisto industrial base, the Legion has modernized and expanded rapidly over the last two decades. Most notably, the Legion now operates most of the expeditionary forces within the Galilean Federation Military. This includes, most notably, a constellation of modern erakkers capable of reaching most planets in the solar system.
Republic Space Force – The largest military in Sol, commanded by the Republic of the First World. Originally built out of the surviving defense fleets of Earth nations after the cataclysm, the Republic spent a century building up their spacefaring arsenal afterwards. The constellations of Luna haven’t grown significantly since the 2290s and the rise of the Kuiper Alliance, but with Jupiter becoming more emboldened with every passing year, the Republic is now considering a major reinvestment.
Bysphere Vipretta – The security arm of the formidable Bysphere Conglomerate. The Vipretta enforces a defense contract with the Cooperative Estates of Ura Herschelia and the Constellation of Maxis Ura, sharing their port facilities. Additionally, the Vipretta offers servicing, training and security contracts to a number of Kuiper Alliance entities, thereby identifying as a total expeditionary force. As if the commercial actions of the Bysphere weren’t concerning enough for the rest of the solar system, the Vipretta recently began flight testing on the first of four high-fusion erakkers.
Space Security Guild – A pre-TIE institution, the Space Security Guild is one of the most widely accepted transnational organizations in Sol. The Guild has spent centuries positioning itself as the predominate neutral party in customs and port protocol. The Guild is not a military, it is a bureaucratic check on the exchange of goods, policy and spacecraft within an increasingly diverse solar system. This service provides peace of mind and mediation between spaceports around the solar system, at the price of a modest tax.

Chrysalis Coalition – The combined military forces of the Chrysalis Union. While impressive, the coalition is considered a defense force, not an expeditionary force. The Union has hardly any interplanetary capabilities. Many contributors have rather outdated spacecraft and weapon systems, but still pose a viable threat to Saturnian interlopers.
Rhean Defense Force – The United Orbital Sphere of Rhea contributes the largest single military to the Chrysalis Coalition. The nations of Rhea not only maintain a constellation of capable fracters, they also have a sizable standing army for use in deployment actions in Saturnian sphere.
Research
Tyra Asthena – One of the largest Earth-based research and survey companies. Tyra Asthena existed prior to the 2181 impact event, during which time their main objective was collecting data on the climatological degradation of Earth.
The Earth Conservancy – One of the leading Earth biodiversity conservation organizations prior to the 2181 impact. By the time of the apocalypse, Earth ecosystems had diminished so far that the Earth Conservancy had mostly adjusted to contingency missions, often storing genetic data, seeds, samples and surveys of the life that remained on Earth. This proved fruitful, as their off-planet stores became extraordinarily important after Spica’s Arrow obliterated what remained of Earth’s biosphere.
Icthara Conservation – The Governing institution of the Icthara Orbital. The Icthara Conservation is charged with the preservation, reclamation and reconstruction of Earth life.
The Iceland Group– An academic research conglomerate commissioned by the Republic of Fist World to survey and study post impact Earth. Iceland Group maintains a research station near the impact site.
Project Obligation – Founded in 2199, Obligation is the most well funded interstellar research initiative in Sol history. With commissions from the RFW, True Light of Sol and numerous Kuiper Alliance factions, Obligation has successfully performed 8 uncrewed interstellar missions as of 2373.
Interstellar Initiatives
Taushot Belle – The planned interstellar colony effort to Tau Ceti (Tauci) 4. One of the first survey missions launched under the Obligation initiative, the Tauci mission was extremely successful, returning plenty of valuable data about Tauci 4. The planet was deemed the most viable candidate in 2342. Two more exploration missions are underway as of 2373 and the first remote preparatory mission is tentatively planned for a 2385 departure. True Light of Sol and the planners of Project Obligation both hope to have a human mission underway to Tauci by 2400. While the True Light of Sol champion the effort, the mission is under intense scrutiny by some members of the international community.
Exo-Bora – Seed ship expedition to Sirius, planned for a 2415 departure. As of 2373, multiple ongoing test missions are underway in the Kuiper regions.
Grand Terra – An ambitious interstellar expedition to Alpha Centari. Ambitious because the proposed spacecraft design called for an antimatter drive.
A demonstrator was completed in 2329 and successfully ignited antimatter three times. Financing and the difficulty of producing anti-matter fuel prompted Grand Terra to proceed with a full prototype spacecraft. The prototype drive was completed in 2334. The first ignition test was aborted. After a minor redesign, the test was repeated four months later, resulting in the Charon Incident that destroyed the prototype and bankrupted the initiative. Grand Terra still exists today, though it is no longer pursing an expedition of it’s own. It now subcontracts work for both Exo-Bora and Taushot Belle.
