Origin and History
Agni are the hyper sensory main product line of Anetta Industries. With one of the widest spectrums of vision in humanity, Angi are best known for their compound eyes and extendible olfactory/EM receptors. Their audio and static sensors are dispersed around their head and hands.
Agni were introduced as espoused contract workers. A family could effectively adopt an Agni under contract, raise them until maturity (about 8 years of age), before beginning contractual obligations with Anetta Industries, which normally involved periods of work contracts in exchange for benefits packages. Most contracts stipulated a work period of 20-40 years, with varying employment options, labor packages and benefits. While it is often said that Anetta’s intent was to make ethical workers, the company is widely criticized to this day.
Biology
With a high biosynthetic ratio, it’s a small miracle that Agni can reproduce. The population numbers over two million as of the 2370s. Like most transhuman subspecies, they maintain a cultural embassy at Haumea, but are otherwise multi-factional.
Like most post-human genomes, disease resistance and longevity were the primary design philosophy. However, Anetta wanted to break into industrial and military markets, thus including highly integrated sensory package. As with all designs, the gene freeze of 2276 created the iteration that now thrives in the outer solar system.
Agni are sexually monomorphic, with very little discernible difference between males and females beyond genitalia. Some individuals chose to modify themselves towards traditionally masculine or feminine traits, but both are born without biological sex and sexual maturity is induced artificially, usually in their 20s.
Culture and Demographics
Agni are widely dispersed. Two million individuals are scattered throughout the Kuiper Alliance and Ura sphere. Small communities thrive in the asteroid belt and Saturn Sphere.
Notable Individuals
Doctor Capti Mauv – A renown researcher, Capti Mauv is credited with directing the Ceretec Center for Adaptive Diseases during the Agni Redsyth pandemic. Capti Mauv’s leadership resulted in the Redsynth vaccine in 2351.
Jasli Si Prapi – Jasli is a Kuiper Alliance cybernetics baron who funded and developed the Lirriban Contingency, a system that decoys a neural augment with a temporary false mind in response to an intruder.
